Board of Directors Meetings

The Regent Square Civic Association meets on the first Monday of every month at 7PM at the Wilkins Community Center at 7604 Charleston Ave. (Note: If the first Monday is a holiday, the meeting is typically scheduled for the subsequent Monday.) All are welcome to attend these meetings to voice a community issue, volunteer to help, or just to find out what's going in Regent Square. To have an important issue added to the meeting agenda, contact the current President or any Board Member by clicking on any of the highlighted positions below at least two weeks prior to the Board’s meeting. Minutes from past Board of Director's Meetings are available here.

Board Elections and Appointments

RSCA By-Laws permit one-third of its twelve Directors to be elected each Fall for a three-year term beginning in January. Elected members can hold up to two consecutive terms and may run for re-election after a one-year hiatus.

Only members of the Regent Square community who are 18 years old and over and have paid the current year’s RSCA Membership Dues as of October 1st may vote in the November election. RSCA Members may submit their ballots in person and via mail or email. The Elections Committee will check off their names against the current Membership Roster. Provided that votes are cast by at least 10% of the current Members, the four individuals receiving the most votes will be elected to the Board.

The By-Laws also permit the Board to appoint up to three Directors to one-year terms. The Board selects the appointees according to their skills and the needs of the organization at the time.

Regent Square Civic Association
Committees

Do you live, work and/or play in Regent Square? You can have a hand in maintaining the kind of environment that you most want to have in “The Square.”

At its annual January planning meeting, the RSCA Board decides which ongoing initiatives to continue and which new programs to undertake according to the feedback they have received from the community. However, it is community volunteers who truly make these initiatives happen from town meetings on critical issues to neighborhood improvements and safety to fun activities. Committees and their volunteers are what make the RSCA tick. Join an RSCA committee and help your neighborhood to grow and prosper!

We recognize the limited time that volunteers have to give. Whether you can help on a regular basis or for an hour here and there, consider getting involved in an RSCA activity. Interested in one of the committees? Learn more about its goals and responsibilities by clicking here and/or contact the committee chair directly by clicking on his or her name.
