Numerous Board Members Needed

Please consider joining the RSCA Board for the 2011- 2013 term. In order to further the initiatives of the community, the board needs to backfill numerous positions. Joining the RSCA board is a way to take the next step in supporting the Regent Square community. The RSCA board is a working board; that is each member is asked to take on a significant role in the organization. The board has takes on many important issues within the community and is often asked to assume responsibility for many intriguing and needed initiatives such as safety, community building activities, etc. With additional board members, the RSCA is better able to address these ideas and issues.

If you are interested in joining the board for a 3 year elected term or a 1 year assigned term, please review the FAQ’s below. If you have more questions, please contact Carrie Webber, RSCA President.

What are the requirements to be a board member?

You must be a member of the RSCA ($10 individuals, $25 business), attend the monthly meetings, agree to uphold the RSCA Bylaws, and agree to assume responsibility for one significant initiative of the RSCA.

What kind of work can I take on as a board member?

A wide range of opportunities are available- officer position, chair position (yard sale, communications, nominations, membership, etc.), event chair position (yard sale, Easter Egg organizer, etc.), volunteer (email blasts, website support, newsletter support, etc.). In addition, there are always new ideas being presented by new board members and the Regent Square community members. With involved board members, the RSCA is better able to expand its involvement.

How often does the board meet?

The board meets once per month at the Wilkins School Community Center. Meetings are on the first Monday of each month, start at 7:00 and typically end no later than 9:00.

How much time will I have to commit to the RSCA if I’m on the board?

The time commitment depends on the tasks that the member takes on. Each individual must judge for themselves how much time they are able and willing to commit.

Do I need any special skills or work experience to be on the board?

No, board members have a variety of backgrounds and experiences. The most important aspect is that the board member has a commitment to the improvement and preservation of the Regent Square community

When are elections and when does my term start?
