The RSCA presents a calendar of upcoming Regent Square events through this website as well as through the RSCA Newsletter. These events add to the unique character and sense of community in our neighborhood. RSCA sponsored events are listed in bold type. Other events in the Pittsburgh area can be found on several event calendars available here.

February 2012

  • Saturday, February 4, 9:00 am - Noon. RSCA Board Retreat. Mifflin Ave Methodist Church. RSCA Board will hold its annual retreat to decide what initiatives to take on for the upcoming year. Contact: Alina at contact@regentsquare-RSCA.org.
  • Wednesday, February 8, 15 or 22. The Nuts and Bolts of the Property Tax Assessment and Appeals Process. Neighborhood Realty Services will be hosting this seminar with Attorney Bill Ackerman from the law firm of Cain, Ackerman and McCormick, starting at 6:00 at 1028 S Braddock Avenue Pittsburgh, PA 15218. If one wishes to attend, they only need to pick one date, as all 3 seminars will be on the same topic. Seating is limited so one must RSVP by calling 412-241-4700 to register.
  • Saturday, February 25, 4:00 - 6:00 pm. WSSC Family Fun Day. Come and share a favorite family game, or pick from one of ours, run around playing Steal the Bacon, help design the mammoth mosaic window with Daviea Davis, eat some pizza, down a hot chocolate and other goodies, then call it a night. $5.00 per family.   • Saturday, February 25, 6:00 - 10:00 pm. Mardi Gras Celebration! Waverly Presbyterian Church’s annual Mardi Gras features the Cajun-Zydeco band Mon Gumbo and traditional Cajun food, prizes and lots of dancing. Ticket prices to be announced at later date. Proceeds benefit children and youth ministry scholarship. Location: Church social hall, 590 S. Braddock Ave., (corner of Forbes and Braddock) Contact: 412-242-0643; www.waverlychurch.org.

March 2012

  • Saturday, March 24, 10:00 am - Noon. 5th Annual Home Improvement Workshop. Held by the RSCA, in conjunction with the Greater Park Place Neighborhood Association at the Mifflin Ave United Methodist Church (doors open at 9:30). This year’s workshop, Exteriors 101 – Maintaining the Value of Your Home and Community will focus on masonry, siding, roofing, and painting and is free to the public.   • Saturday, April 21. Spring Redd Up. Details to follow.

May 2012

  • Saturday, May 19. Regent Square Yard Sale. The annual RSCA Yard Sale is again scheduled for the middle of May. Volunteers are needed to hang signs, man the information table, collect registrations and more. If you can help so that this neighborhood tradition can continue, please contact Nonie Heystek at yardsale@regentsquare-RSCA.org.
